On Make a Difference Day. Philoptochos and the Sunday School children partnered to donate welcome bag items for the families and to write "Get Well" cards to the children.

For each Aloha Chapter member, we give $15 per person to the National Philoptochos and $15 per member to our Metropolis level. We would appreciate your donation of at least $30.00 to assist in covering our membership obligations to National and Metropolis.  Any additional contribution would remain in Hawaii to help support our local needs.

Please either give your membership donation to any of our Philoptochos Board members or send to:

All Men Are Images of God

“The most powerful icon that all of us have and that we see every single day is the icon that is a human person.  We  have been made as an icon or image of God.  So one of the key things that we have found is that it is very important that we begin to relate the way that we are treating people is the way we are relating to and treating God.  Because the fact that when we venerate an icon, we show that icon respect that it passes to who is represented there.  We kiss an icon of the Lord Jesus Christ then it passes to Christ.  Also if we show respect to that human person that is in front of us, that also passes to the Lord as well.  So how are we treating people?  We see this all throughout the scriptures.  In as much as you have done it to the least of these you have done it to Me.”  FOCUS YouTube video

“At the very heart of it is the treatment strategy that the Lord Himself undertook to save us.  He went from His home in heaven, to our streets for the sake of our salvation, that he might bring us to His heavenly home.  So it is we in the Church are nourish here, we are fed here, we are healed here ourselves.  We must go forth here in the similitude in what the Lord Himself did to bring our neighbors to this place.”  Fr. Jon-Stephen Hedges
